Umulius Records gets its name from an older Norwegian word for children that are mischievous and don't do what they are told by parents or other authorities. The label seeks to offer interesting music which challenges and rewards the attentive listener in a way which still protects the income and intellectual rights of artists. Each record is released physically in limited editions, as well as exclusively being available on download platforms that are not exploiting or mining their creative sources.

"Umulius

- from the Norwegian word umulig, meaning impossible

- used for someone who doesn't behave well or chooses not to follow instructions

- often used for kids that are being mischievous little rascals"

"Rhizome is a great record. Not only long, and not only dense, but also a record of truly complex and intriguing compositions, quality individual performances, but above all a collective, powerful expression of the vision of a man who should soon be recognized as one of the most important composers working in Europe at the moment, leaning on Schlippenbach's foundation and then building on it towards the sky. Listen!"

- Mehmet Krljic, Jazz Nedeljom

"Rhizome shows many exciting sides of Dag Magnus Narvesen. I look forward to attending a concert with Damana."

- Lars Mossefinn, Dag og Tid

"Here we get everything from great melodies where it swings fiercely to free excursions and with the broadness found in the ensemble, everything is explored in a superb way.

"Rhizome" and Damana are outstanding proof that Dag Magnus Narvesen has an exciting voice in the kingdom that deserves much more attention than what has been his share so far."

- Tor Hammerø, Nettavisen
